I have recently spoken to someone raised southern Baptist who has chosen
to live their individual spiritual life following the basic teachings of Jesus Of Nazareth.
These basic concepts, without discourse or condemnation, of those whose
beliefs frequently allow, even promote intolerance, demand ABSOLUTE
compliance, a collective lexicon of accusation, shaming techniques, vocal and
often physical actions of protests.
When Southern Baptist victims reported abuse, lawyers stood in their way!
All justified by their FAITH and a strict adherence to outdated often harmful
misinterpretation of an omnipresent benevolent GOD.
Rewards promised in the next life become a collective credence to sanction
ALL intolerance, wrapping themselves inside a cloak of HOLY, allowing any
behaviors outside their rigid interpretation of an unforgiving GOD stand
as evidence of universal behavior, because it is thought to be justified by
their FAITH.
Strict adherence to outdated often harmful misinterpretation of an omnipresent
benevolent God, because they are deemed to be the ONLY acceptable choices.
