Two poems by Sushant Thapa

Affection

The night is young,
The daybreak is far away.
My mind oscillates
Between you and me.
We have kept traces
On the sand,
Tonight, water washes
Over it.
I was reading by the porch,
Your fragrance
Kept my story going,
My eyes are never tired
To look at anything
When you are with me.
This love isn’t colorless
When every change
In the weather
Is celebrated.
Love is inked well
In affection.

Uncertain Future

Endless
Grief
Brings river
Of Blood.
We take away
The relaxing habit,
We think not,
We bake not the survival,
What follows has not been
What went ahead.
Moments freeze,
Summer kills.
Take away the halls of discord,
But we need different windows
To have different views,
Change the outlook,
Let us dive deep into
The depth of
The blue,
Be it the sky
Or the Sea.
We will think of what
Stands on the ground,
Before it collapses again.
Your childhood play
Is my uncertain future, too.
Wonder how some things
Never change.
